Meniscal Cyst

Meniscal cysts arise in response to trauma or degeneration of the meniscus and are most commonly seen is association with horizontal cleavage tears, as in the example below. Here a small (5mm) cyst is seen pouching from the medial aspect of the medial meniscus deep to the medial collateral ligament (MCL).
