Panner's DiseasePanner's disease arises due to avascular necrosis of the capitellar ossification centre secondary to trauma. Unlike osteochondritis dissecans, it is typically seen in children in the 5 to 11 year age group before capitellar ossification is complete and physeal fusion has occurred. It should not be confused with the 'pseudodefect' of the capitellum which affects the posterior aspect of the capitellum.
