Graduated from Manchester University in
1984. Obtained higher degrees in
medicine and in computation/image processing. Successfully completed five years training
in radiology with a special interest in magnetic resonance imaging. This was undertaken in
Aberdeen, one of the first and principal centres in the UK to offer magnetic resonance
imaging training, and Cardiff. Appointed as consultant radiologist at the Victoria
Hospital Blackpool NHS Trust (VHB) in November 1996 principally to provide computed
tomography and magnetic resonance imaging services to the people of the Fylde. Member of
MRRA UK (Magnetic Resonance Radiologists Association UK). Lead radiologist for the
introduction of PACS (film less soft copy department) at VHB. Lectures on the Lancaster
Magnetic Resonance MSc. course.

Qualified from Manchester University with an Honours degree in Physiology 1978
and in Medicine 1981. After successfully completing a 3 year General Practice vocational
training scheme in the South Manchester area, entered and completed radiology training at
Sheffield University Hospitals. In 1991 appointed to the position of consultant
radiologist at Victoria Hospital Blackpool NHS Trust. He has a special interest in
magnetic resonance imaging and was instrumental in the introduction of a magnetic
resonance imaging service to the people of the Fylde. This was initially via a mobile
service based at Fylde Coast Hospital and then by a state of the art static unit at the
Victoria Hospital Blackpool. Member of MRRA UK (Magnetic Resonance Radiologists
Association UK). Appointed to the North West Radiologists sub committee. Actively involved
in the University of Manchester radiologists training scheme. Helped organise and lectured
on 2 UK Magnetic Resonance Angiography study days in collaboration with Siemens plc during
the past year.
